Theories on Brittany Murphy's Death

First of all, it's a real shame that such a young beautiful and talented life ended too soon.  Brittany Murphy' big break was the movie "Clueless".  She went on to make other movies like "8 Mile" and "Girl Interrupted".  She seemed to specialize in playing roles where she was either a drug addict or had an eating disorder.  There is much speculation regarding her death.  Was it drugs?  Was it her weight?  Was her life unraveling?


Here is what we know.  She is married to Simon Monjack, who has an unsavory reputation.  He was rumored to give his former fiancee a cubic zirconium and passed it off as a diamond.  He has warrants out for his arrest in Virginia.  A British investment firm has a half million dollar judgment against Monjack.  He has been described as a con-man and a swindler.  We also know that Brittany has had a problem with tabloids branding her as under weight.  She denied the rumors that she had an eating disorder.  Most recently Murphy was fired from  a movie being difficult on the set.  As she and her husband made their way back to LA, her husband had to be hospitalized.  Murphy claimed that her husband was having an "asthma attack", while others think it may have been drug related.

My first thought about  her death was what a shame.  My second  thought was cocaine.  My third thought was eating disorder.  I'm a believer that there are few coincidences in this world.  It's a well known fact that people with eating disorders sometimes die of organ failure.  It's possible that her drug use accelarated the organ failure.  Another possibility is that she had an overdose.

Whatever the cause, rest in peace Brittany.  Clueless was one of my favorite movies for a very long time.
US Weekly just printed pictures taken 2 weeks ago.  The autopsy is scheduled for today 12/21/2009.
